Care of the Environment & Pollution control
Pollution is the introduction of contaminants into the natural environment that causes adverse change. The various forms of Environmental pollutions are:
*Air pollution - the release of chemicals and particulates into the atmosphere.
*Light pollution - includes light trespass, over-illumination and astronomical interference.
*Noise pollution - which includes roadway noise, aircraft noise, industrial noise as well as high-intensity sonar.
*Soil contamination - occurs when chemicals are released by spill and underground leakage such as hydrocarbons, heavy metals, herbicides, pesticides.
*Radioactive contamination - occurs because of nuclear power generation and nuclear weapons research, manufacture and deployment.
*Water pollution - by discharge of wastewater from commercial and industrial waste into surface waters, discharge of untreated domestic sewage, and chemical contaminants, such as chlorine from treated sewage, waste disposal, and leaching into ground water.
*Visual pollution - refers to presence of overhead power lines, motorway billboards, and scarred landforms, open storage of trash, municipal solid waste or space debris.
*Thermal pollution - is a temperature change in natural water bodies caused by human influence such as use of water as coolant in a power plant.
*Littering - the criminal throwing of inappropriate man-made objects, unremoved, onto public and private properties.
We are the care takers of the earth so it is our sole responsibility to take care of our environment. Due to the environmental pollution being caused by humans global warming has increased and is leading to destruction of the natural climatic changes.
It is the term used for environmental management. It means the control of emissions and effluents into air, water or soil.
